  • What services do you offer?

    GCSS offers both residential and commercial services to provide top-quality cleaning to homes and offices in the areas of Pensacola, Florida, and New Orleans, Louisiana. To get started, we typically schedule a Deep Cleaning from top to bottom of your home/office as your first cleaning and is done yearly or as you see fit.

We can make adjustments such as
 cleaning only the Kitchen, Bathrooms, or Bedrooms. Just let us know what you would like us to do. 
  • Why should I choose Gulf Coast Shimmer N Shine?

    GCSS thoroughly cleans your entire home during each visit and we follow your specific instructions when given.
 We choose our cleaners very carefully.
 Each must undergo a criminal background check and drug screening and each is thoroughly trained to handle your house/office cleaning needs.
 


    We strive to earn your business.
 We focus on the details and have very high standards.
 We want you to be satisfied with our cleaning and continually work to make that happen.
 


    If there is something special that you need to be done, please let us know.

  • This is my first maid cleaning service. How do I get started?

    If this is your first cleaning with our company, we suggest you start with a deep cleaning, and then you can switch to a recurring cleaning schedule at the frequency that best fits your needs.
 Please keep in mind that deep cleaning services will normally take longer than a recurring cleaning visit.

  • How do I prepare for you to clean my home?

    In order for the cleaners to focus on their job, we ask that you pick up clothing, toys, and other household items and put them away or in baskets. The cleaners will not know where your personal items belong and we prefer that they do not go into your closets or drawers to put things away. 


    When you schedule your appointment, please communicate any specific wishes to the office, your priorities, and possible areas that you may have concerns about. 


    Please make sure that we know how we are going to get into your home if you are away: Key location, entry code, alarm code (if necessary).

  • What is done on each visit?

    All of the services listed on our Cleaning checklist and any additional areas from your priority list.

  • What days and times are your cleaners available?

    We are available to clean your home
 Monday through Friday 8:00 am-4:00 pm.
 


    The first appointment usually starts at 8:00 am and the last around 3:30 pm.
 


    Our office phones are available to leave a message 24 hrs a day 7 days a week and we try to be as responsive as possible. Someone will respond within 24 hours.

  • Does someone have to be home when you come to clean?

    This is up to you.
 Most of our customers are not at home when we come to clean. 
We will make personal and confidential arrangements with you on how to gain access to the house/ office. You can: 

    • Let the cleaner in and show her how to let herself out,
    • Make our office a copy of your key to keep on file, or set up a door or alarm code specifically for the cleaners
,
    • Hide the key, or 
    • Stay at home. 

    However, if there is going to be somebody under 18 years old at the time of the cleaning, an adult must be home to supervise that minor.
 We cannot be responsible for looking after them.

  • What should I do about my pets?

    We love animals, but sometimes they don’t love us.
 If you think your pet may become overly anxious while we are in your home, please 
make temporary arrangements such as utilizing the garage, a kennel, or a closed-off room while we are present.

  • Can I leave a note for the cleaner?

    Absolutely!

    Regardless of the reason, we very much appreciate your communication.
 If you have a special request, have a concern, or are pleased with how well we clean, please let us know.
 We normally call you after your initial cleaning to confirm your satisfaction.
 


    The owners of GCSS have very high standards and we strive to instill that philosophy in our maids. 
We are here to serve you and your satisfaction is our job.

  • Is a contract required for residential cleaning?

    Nope! We earn your repeat business through the old-fashioned way, with quality service each and every time we clean your home so you will want us coming back!


    However, recurring services require signing a 1-year agreement. Clients may end the service agreement at any time but must give a 30-day notice before the cancellation is put into effect.

  • Do the cleaners bring their own supplies?

    Our cleaners can provide all products and supplies necessary, as most clients prefer, at NO EXTRA charge. We practice natural green cleaning methods.
 However, please let our cleaners know if there is anything specific you'd like to be used. Our cleaners are happy to make accommodations!

  • Do you send a team of cleaners to my house?

    Yes, we are typically a one to three-person crew on our normal day-to-day jobs. For some larger jobs, we may have a larger team to accommodate your needs.

  • Do you send the same person every time my home/office is cleaned?

    Yes, we try to, but that doesn’t always work out due to someone getting sick or taking time off.
 All of our cleaners provide the same consistent service to every customer, so you should feel like you are receiving the same quality service no matter who the cleaner is. 
However, if you would like to make a change, please do not hesitate to ask.

  • Do your cleaners wear uniforms?

    Yes! You can easily identify us because we wear uniforms with the GCSS logo.

  • What is your cancellation and lock-out fee policy?

    You must provide us with a minimum of 24-hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your cleaning. Cancellations on the same day of service will incur a $50.00 fee.
 A lockout is if our team shows up to clean and no notice to cancel was given, you will be charged a $50.00 lock-out fee.

  • When and how do I make a payment?

    Payment is due at the time of service. We gladly accept checks, cash, Visa, Master Card, Discover and American Express, Venmo, and Cash app.
 


    Credit Card

    If you are going to pay with a credit card please call our office and provide us with your credit card information to put your card on file.
 Your card will be charged on the day of services. As soon as it gets approved you will automatically receive a receipt via email. 


    Check

     If you are going to pay with a check please make it payable to Gulf Coast Shimmer N Shine. There will be a fee of $25 for returned checks.

  • What happens if I forget to leave payment for the cleaner?

    In case that happens please call our office to notify us.
 If you can not bring payment to the cleaners while she is in your house, you can pay with a credit card over the phone.
 If we do not receive a payment within two days of cleaning there will be late fees applied.

  • Should I tip my cleaner?

    Gratuity is accepted and appreciated but never expected.
 For those who choose to tip, a common amount is 15-20% of your total cleaning fee.

  • What if something was missed or not cleaned during my cleaning?

    Please call us within 48 hours if something was missed.
 We take pride in our work and if we miss something, please let us know so that we can correct that oversight as quickly as possible.
 All of our cleaning service charges are final, we do not offer refunds on services that have been provided. 


    We guarantee our service and will return to correct the mistake at no additional charge as long as the issue is within the scope of work promised.

  • Can I trust your cleaners?

    Gulf Coast Shimmer N Shine employs the best and most qualified workers.
 We choose only the very top candidates that apply to work for us.


    Before a potential candidate is even considered, he or she must undergo a thorough background and reference check as well as drug screening. Each and every GCSS cleaner meets stringent requirements to be a part of our team and in your home/office.


    We also maintain a bonding insurance policy for additional security.

  • Do you carry insurance for damage?

    Yes! We are fully insured.
 While every effort is made to use great care in your home, rare accidents do sometimes happen.
 


    Our cleaners are trained to immediately notify our office (and you) if something is damaged or broken so that we can handle the situation as soon as possible.
 If we should damage or break something, we will make every effort to have the item repaired or if necessary replaced.
 


    We limit our loss to the replacement value, repair cost, or $5,000, whichever is less. We carry a $1,000,000 General liability insurance policy and Workmans Comp insurance on all of our workers.
